Christmas with Y & R

What if Joseph and Mary had access to faster modes of transportation when seeking a place to give birth? And what would have happened if they had taken a wrong turn leading them away from Bethlehem? Those are questions that have been occupying the minds of theologists for centuries. Finally, with the help of today’s latest 3D technology, Y & R, Flashfabriek and Barcinski & Jeanjean have tried to answer those questions. Have a look.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Jeanjean & Jeanjean

May 21, 2008

For the past few months, in between other projects, I have been working on a website for a very talented photographer, who also happends to be my sister, Géraldine Jeanjean. She is about to release a book which portraits a small village situated in the most sparsely populated region in France, called Aumont. The idea behind the website was to offer two ways to explore Aumont by combining horizontal and vertical navigation. Horizontaly gives you an impression as you would get by walking in and around the village; you see landscapes, meet a person, notice a house, meet another person, maybe even noticing an old family portrait hanging on the wall in a local bar. All these different aspects mixed together. Verticaly, however, you can explore Aumont within one aspect; meet all the people in a row, or take a walk outside the village to enjoy all the landscapes, or take the architectural route by going up or down on a photograph of a building. A decision to make for each photo; which way to go? But don’t worry, no matter which way you choose, you will see them all. Have a look.

MeloManics Minigame

MeloManics Remixed

The MeloManics are about to release a remixed version of their debut album TheGreyLight. To announce and promote the Remix Album, we made a little Flash slide puzzle. The release of the album is also going to be accompanied by a limited number of actual physical slide puzzles, which I think is a really nice promotional stunt for a remix album. The scripting of the puzzle itself was about an hour and a half work. Creating the artwork for the puzzle, however, took about a day and a half of dropshadow and mask bonanza. Give it a try.

New website for debut album Melomanics

May 17, 2007

MeloManics - TheGreyLight

With the release of their debut album “TheGreyLight”, which I produced together with Aux, the MeloManics website needed to be rebuilt to reflect the new style of the band and album. For the album artwork a set was built of a room with everything in it coated with a layer of grey latex, so obviously the theme color of the website was going to be grey. To avoid me having to do the updates, the content is entirely manageable by the band members themselves. Have a look >>

MeloManics Website

June 15, 2006

MeloManics

Their performance at Parkpop 2005, with its 350.000 spectators, ushered in a new phase in the promotion of the dutch electro-rock band MeloManics. During their show 1000 free promo discs where distributed amongst the crowd, necessitating a new website to serve the stream of new visitors that this buzz generated. To make sure these visitors would check back regularly, the special item “Studio Dagboek” was introduced. This Studio Diary section of the site was updated on a regular basis as the recording of the album progressed with lots of photo’s, videos and mp3s. Have a look >>
